ECU Tuning

TTP Engineering tunes on the most technologically advanced dynamometer in the industry. Our in-house Mustang Dyno AWD-500 single eddy current brake dyno. This specialized type of dyno is paramount in insuring that your vehicle performs exactly how it was tuned both on the dyno while being tuned as well as especially on the street when it comes time to actually drive your vehicle in real life.
TTP Engineering started out as a 4g63 enthusiast/hobbyist about two decades ago. This long tenure working with these vehicles has given us immeasurable opportunity to test our theories and ideas both on the street as well as at the racetracks. We have learned much of what we know from first hand experience and have been able to apply our expertise to our own track vehicles before ever touching a client vehicle.
This ideology has insured that our clients receive the best results without exceeding the mechanical limitations we have tested on our own dime throughout the years. Granted there are no guarantees when exceeding the oem configuration of any automobile as vehicles are inherently unreliable, however knowing that your tuner has tested the limitations themselves on their own dime, and their own time speaks volumes in their commitment to offering safe and effective tuning solutions.

One of the largest differences in being tuned at TTP Engineering is that your engine ECU is remapped by the head engine builder here on site who understands the fundamental engine principals. Camshaft lift and duration, centerline grind, which intercooler core used, width, brand, in and out pipe diameters, turbo size, turbo manufacturer, compression ratio, headgasket thickness, fuel type and on and on. Since TTP builds these engines daily, we understand what can and cannot be done, what limitations there are. Your car will NEVER be the guinea pig as we are the authority in what we do. Our tuning of your vehicle is something we have already done thousands of times over. Our engine building experience coupled with our knowledge of the inner workings of the entire car, we can confidently tune your engine using our applied know-how.
There are a few other differences between a "tooner" and our professional tuning service offered by TTP. Simply put, who wants to put their $40,000.00+ car at risk with some guy working out of his house violating code enforcement, with no liability insurance, no business license and doing a "part time" quality job without any recourse in case they crash your car on the street or get arrested for reckless driving while editing data in your ECU. In the rare case they actually dynotune your car, you also have the burden in setting up awkward appointments with "Dyno Facility X" where you pay a fee to the dyno facility for renting the dyno, you then schedule an appointment with the "tooner" and part with your money to multiple places. We hear complaints time and time again about "Tooner A" set an appointment for such and such day at 10am and the tuner showed up but the dyno facility said they were too busy or vice versa. People showing up at "Dyno Facility Y" and they were ready for you but the "Tooner A" pulled a "no-call, no-show".

At TTP Engineering you don't have to bother with that awkward multiple blown appointment nonsense. We appreciate and value your time and have made it convenient for our customers. We own the state of the art all wheel drive dyno in-house for a true "one-stop" shop that can do it all. Front wheel drive, rear wheel drive and all-wheel-drive are supported.

Driveability Concerns with Dynojet Tuning vs. Mustang Dyno
One of the biggest advantages in tuning at TTP Engineering is our eddy load brake dyno. This specialized state of the art dynamometer is capable of taking into account your vehicles aerodynamics and weight. With this inputted data it uses a secondary computer board to add load to the rollers braking system and accurately simulate real load conditions on your driveline. Just as you would experience on the street as speed increases, so does load from wind pushing back on the front of the car and windshield. The same load is applied while tuning. This insures your car still performs well without knock and detonation, travels through the same load path within the ECU for the most accurate, effective tune. The Mustang Dyno AWD-500 is also capable of other advanced measurements such as "rolling road", 0-60 times, full quartermile drag passes complete with E.T. and MPH printouts. It is an amazing machine to have your amazing vehicle tuned on. Inferior Dynojet Dynamometers are not able to do any of these things so since real load cannot be applied to the car like the Mustang Dyno, the tuning will suffer and the tune you receive on a Dynojet will NOT perform the same on the street as the dyno unlike the Mustang Dyno we have here at TTP.
